Remembrance Day Peace Service at Temple Shalom

Remembrance Day Peace Service at Temple Shalom

Fri, Nov 11 at 7:30 PM -Shabbat Service lay led by Ruth Livingston on the theme of Peace.

For the past few years Ruth Livingston and her family, with Janet Pelletier Goetze, have led a Peace Service on the Friday closest to Remembrance Day.

This year it falls on Friday, 11.11.11. The service uses our regular prayer book but has additional music from a variety of sources- the 60′s peace movement, current anti-war songs and songs that speak to the experience of war from a variety of perspectives.

Joining Ruth and Janet on the Bimah are musicians from our congregation and the Grant- Wilton coffee house – Patrick Elazar, Phil Spevack; Isabel Cheer, Dan Frechette, Flo Oramsionwu, Sangeetha Balachandra, David Au and Jane Enkin as well as the Dana clan: Phyllis, Karen & Marshall with Harry Havey and Allan Finkel.

Come and sing some old familiar songs and be inspired by some new ones.
